Joel is an acting tutor, director and theatre maker specialising in physical theatre practices and the craft of comedy. He teaches lots of things.
Carving out a career as an actor and theatre maker, Joel has worked around the world and collaborated with some incredible artists (Idle Motion, Babeltheatre.co.uk, ZU-UK.co.uk, RedBellyBlack and many more) making theatre, providing theatre training and offering pedagogical consultancy. He specialises in devised and physical theatre and has taught movement, clowning, devising techniques and circus skills to actors and young theatre makers in schools, universities and some of the leading acting conservatoires in the UK including East 15 Acting School, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Identity School of Acting, PPA, Rose Bruford and Oxford University. He was director of Young Pleasance London, an ensemble for theatremakers aged 16 - 25 at the Pleasance Theatre, Islington, launched in September 2018.
Joel was Course Leader for BA Acting for Stage and Screen for 3 years at Performance Preparation Academy.
